An introductory lesson on Sharia Law aimed at A-Level or Gifted and Talented learners. The lesson provides a basic overview of what is meant by Sharia Law and students undertake an activity about Aurangzeb. There is a group presentation activity where students will be objectively looking at the portrayal of Sharia Law in the media/news and how it is represented. Students will also compare and contrast Sharia Law/views with Western views and ideals.

In light of Valentines day, this is the ideal tutorial designed to get students to think for themselves about what is a healthy and an unhealthy relationship. Students will also discuss abuse and why abusive relationships can be difficult to break away from. Students will partake in discussions and light activities which can be further examined with older or more mature student groups. Advice provided to students on where they can go for support should they need it.

This PowerPoint is full of student activities and was originally created for Access to Higher Education Learners to be delivered over two days. This unit of work covers introduction to mental health and mental ill-health, defining mental health, diagnostic manuals and reliability of these, types of mental illness, data exploration activities and scenarios based on the current mental health crisis. I was observed twice throughout this unit and received a grade 1. There are lots of links which can be pulled out for lesson planning in terms of English, Maths, Employability and Equality and Diversity.

You will need poster materials e.g. pens/paper and internet access to deliver this lesson.

Presentation crammed with icebreakers, team building activities, and activities to introduce students to concepts such as E&;D, employability, policies etc. Some activities designed to enable students to find their way around buildings etc. Therefore, you will need to design a simple clue sheet about your organisation. Can be adapted to meet your organisations needs. This was taught over a full day but can be divided up across tutorial/form tutor time etc.

Bingo game to encourage students to communicate and get to know each other. Basic template with statements which can be adjusted to fit the group. Students could write some sentences about the students they met as a follow up activity.

This Tutorial features an activity on the 'Say No To Drugs campaign', an embedded maths activity on what alcohol data is showing amongst other discussion and research style activities. By the end of the session, students will be more knowledgeable on the dangers of alcohol and drugs.

This lesson was delivered as part of a 1 hour tutorial designed to provide students with a taster of what employability skills, what are employers looking for and to encourage them to start considering what skills they already have. Features teacher prompts and student centred activities. You will need a classroom with computers and internet access for this lesson. Might work well at the start of the year for a taster of what skills students should expect to develop on whatever courses they are studying. Can be made subject specific.

An array of handouts and activities designed to make adult learners consider conflict management with an employability focus. Learners will work with the Four-Step Process of Conflict Management. Could be adapted for staff training.

Simple worksheet which could follow a class discussion on equipment students will need in school. Students are asked to draw/write what they need to bring with them on a school bag template.

An introductory session based on the differences between Labour and Conservative political party views. Students will explore arguments for and against Universal benefits and Means tested benefits. Discusses David Cameron's Ideology. You may wish to produce a follow up activity to encompass Theresa May e.g. different between views or what will the change of PM mean for the country.

A succinct resource which prepares students to debate the importance of equality and diversity within society, asking pertinent questions about whether these are the most importance principles or not. Students will also debate the negatives and intended positives of discrimination e.g. guaranteed interview schemes. This will help students to work as part of a team and develop their skills in constructing arguments.
